Sumtotal has provided ad-hoc specialist and subject matter expertise to Accenture around connected devices, mobile commerce and other related topics.

Amino is one of the leading Set Top Box manufacturers. Reporting directly to their CEO, we developed and implemented a strategy to help the company to grow beyond their existing customer base of TV service providers to CE device manufacturers such as Sony, Samsung, Sharp, Panasonic etc.  

Reporting directly to the CEO, Sumtotal was a key member of the original delivery team for BT Vision - BT's first foray into Video on Demand and Hybrid IPTV services. We were responsible for all aspects of the Set Top Box, DRM, Codec and Platform  selection as well as providing a major input into the overall service proposition

Sumtotal assisted G&D, one of the worlds leading security technology providers, in developing suitable propositions of their new Secure Media technology. Target sectors and customers included key Content and CE players such as Sony Pictures, Fox, Philips, Sony Electronics and Samsung. 

 

Sumtotal was enlisted to help The Cloud - UK's 2nd largest WiFi provider at the time - to enable their service on a variety of Consumer Electronic devices including the Sony PSP and other similar devices from brands such as Samsung, Panasonic and Cisco.  

EE, the UK's biggest mobile network operator, is one of the longest standing clients of Sumtotal. We have supported EE in various roles from Product Management through to playing a leadership role in launching UK's first mobile contactless payment solution. 

Informetis is a smart energy technology company based out of Japan and is a spin-off from Sony Corporation. Sumtotal are advising them on an Interim Management basis to help establish their business in Europe as well as help them on their product road map development. 

Sumtotal was engaged by Philips to assist them in launching their first connected TV service. Sumtotal was an important and integral part of the internal team to deliver a fully working end to end solution which subsequently was branded Philips Net TV.    

We supported and advised Rogers Communications of Canada on developing and implementing their mobile payments strategy using NFC contactless technology as the underlying platform.  

We supported Siemens in developing and implementing a pragmatic strategy to increase the reach of their VOD Entertainment platform (SURPASS) with major Telcos (eg. BT) and Games companies such as PlayStation.

Sumtotal was engaged by BSkyB to provide specialist advice to their Senior Management team on the potential opportunities and threats from mobile NFC and related technologies. 

We have been pleased to help Sony Corporation with several projects over the past 10 years. These have included the provision of strategy and business development support for  the establishment of Sony's FeliCa and Smart Energy business in Europe.
